It is a common human tendency to hastily label others as violent, hot-tempered, foolish, or ignorant based on their actions or reactions in certain situations—forgetting that action always brings reaction. Some people always avoid arguments, particularly when they find themselves in circumstances that exceed their usual standards after their commitment and betrayal. We often fall into the trap of assuming that because individuals share similar situations—such as working in jobs perceived as below a certain status—or behave in specific ways, everyone must conform to the same mould. However, such sweeping judgements are not only unfair but also deeply flawed. Each person's journey is unique, shaped by their own experiences, challenges, and perspectives.
Life frequently places us in situations where we need help, and unfortunately, there are times when those we rely on fail us. When someone has repeatedly faced disappointment yet managed to overcome their struggles independently, it is a testament to their resilience and strength. To then approach this person with insincere offers of help—help that was not given when it was truly needed, now being used as a means to enslave them for a problem, to solve a big task they never enjoyed or benefited from when all was good—is a grave betrayal. It disregards their past struggles and seeks to exploit their hard-earned independence.
When times were good, certain people were remembered and prioritised, while others were deemed unworthy. Those who benefited from the surplus should now be the ones to step up and solve the problem—not those who were deprived but independently and patiently faced life’s struggles. It is unjust to turn to those who were ignored in times of plenty, expecting them to carry burdens they were never allowed to share in during prosperity.
The axe forgets but the tree remembers. There is a saying that warns against provoking the anger of a patient person. Patience is a virtue, but it is not limitless. When someone has endured hardship and injustice with remarkable restraint, it does not mean they are incapable of anger. Rather, it suggests they have carefully chosen their battles. However, pushing a patient person too far can unleash a force that is both unexpected and formidable.
Therefore, it is crucial to move beyond superficial judgements and recognise the depth and complexity of every individual's story. True understanding comes not from assumptions but from empathy and awareness of the struggles that shape a person's choices and actions.
